DID YOU KNOW...?
The United States law requires all new pillows, mattresses, comforters, and similar stuffed articles to be sold with a tag describing the fabric and filling. The law label previously read “Do not remove under penalty of law”, causing some consumers to believe that they could be arrested for cutting it off. The wording has since been changed to reflect that it is legal for the consumer to remove the tag of a mattress that they have purchased.
THE CRYING TREE
It is said that an Indian woman once stumbled across a tree that had white teardrops. She believed that the tree was crying — but we know today that those tears were simply the natural sap seeping from the bark of the Rubber Tree. Early civilizations found many uses from the rubber sap, making waterproof clothing and shoes, and even little balls that would bounce, to provide hours of entertainment. Today, we’ve learned how to harness the natural properties of the rubber tree and create wonderful sleeping surfaces that are comfortable, durable, and naturally safe.
TRADITIONS
CozyPure mattresses are traditionally handcrafted, one at a time, using only the finest natural materials available today. The materials are then selected individually - or in combinations - to create a comfortable, healthy mattress of the highest quality, which compliment and enhance our five standard models.
Selecting the perfect mattress can be extremely challenging and stressful, due to the sheer number of makes and models available in the marketplace. We’ve taken our many years of organic bedding industry experience, and developed a core line of five standard CozyPure mattresses which offer various benefits and value. We feel confident that our selection will provide you with the choices you need in your search for the perfect organic sleep system. Be sure to read the information we provide throughout the catalog to help you in your decision. Or call us, and we’ll be happy to assist with recommendations.
DID YOU KNOW . . .
Man-made synthetic rubbers and foams (including visco-elastic), are made from petrochemicals which absorb and hold body heat? Not only do these materials offgas harmful toxins, they also create uncomfortably “hot” sleeping surfaces, and are a haven for dust mites.
JUST ADD WOOL —
FOR DUST MITE CONTROL AND A CLEANER, FRESHER BED!
A survey by the International Wool Secretariat found that 30 percent of Americans believed they were allergic to wool. Most medical authorities say true wool allergies are rare — especially with organic wool since there are no chemicals! Read “Did You Know”, below. In fact, the most common adverse reaction to wool is a skin rash (which experts say really isn’t wool allergies, but sensitive skin). However, even if it were true, our CozyPure Wool (with the exception of a blanket) is never in direct contact with your skin. To get a rash, your skin must touch the wool, and since our wool is always covered, it’s next-to-impossible to get a skin irritation. Even our moisture pads, in their pure-felted state, require you to put a sheet above them. We tell you this so you understand the importance of having wool in your sleep system. Cotton, by its very nature, does not wick away moisture. Yes, it breathes and it’s a wonderful fabric, but in bedding we need wool to keep everything clean, and resistant to dust mites. Wool fibers are self-cleaning through oxygen and sunshine. Cotton needs to be machine washed, and you can’t wash a mattress. We do not recommend natural bedding without wool. Not only are you risking fire safety, but also dirt, oils, and moisture collected nightly, soak into your bedding — and wool is the answer to keep it clean naturally.
Did You Know that a common reason most people are allergic to wool is the acid-washing process? CozyPure wool is never acid washed or subjected to chemical sterilization. In fact, the family-farmed sheep enjoy an unlimited organic food supply in a scrupulously clean barn, and they graze on land free from pesticides and chemical fertilizers. After gentle shearing, the finest handpicked filaments are selected, then scoured clean in hot water and natural soap. Our wool is certified safe by the Oko-Tex 100 standard. That’s why it’s called CozyPure.
