NO FORMALDEHYDE OR TOXIC CHEMICALS
We use three ingredients in our mattresses:
Really that's all we use.
No hidden FR barriers. No hidden polyester blends. No synthetic latex. No foams. No glues. No toxic chemicals.
If you've taken the time to read our "15 Reasons" then you know the benefits of the materials we use. Just like reading labels on food or body care, if you can't pronounce it or understand it then that's probably not a good thing. Our mattresses are made with only three ingredients from nature that everyone can pronounce and understand. That's a good thing. A very good thing.
WHAT'S IN THAT CONVENTIONAL FOAM MATTRESS?
Polyurethane Foam and Memory Foam is made from petroleum-based chemicals, as well as flame retardants and viscosity inducing agents. A polyol is a substance created through a chemical reaction using methyloxirane (also called propylene oxide).
This is just a short list of toxins found in an analyzed type of memory foam: Formaldehyde, Styrene, TDI (Toluene Di-Isocyanate), Polyol (Poly Ether Gycol), Silicone Surfactant, Tertiary Amine, Stannous Octoate, Flame Retardant, Pigments/Dyes.
Toluene Di-Isocyanate (TDI) is the most common isocyanate employed in polyurethane manufacturing, and is considered the workhorse of flexible foam production.
Using natural latex rubber, wool and organic cotton allows us to manufacture mattresses and bedding that do NOT contain all that yucky stuff. Not to mention it's so much more durable, you'll probably never have to buy another bed again.
